Hechos con cariño por Ita.
Rooted in Família.
Nurtured by Tradición.
Inspired by “Ita”.
por•Ita was born from amor de familia — from the hands and heart of our mother, grandmother, and matriarch, Teresita—whom the grandkids lovingly call “Ita” for abuelita (grandma). In Mexican Spanish, the suffix -ita makes things tender, small, beloved — just like everything she makes.
In Spanish, “por Ita” can mean:
• for Ita
• by Ita
• because of Ita
It honors a woman shaped by humble beginnings — raised in a small town in Mexico without running water or paved streets — yet rich in resilience, generosity, and cariño. The lessons she taught us — about community, gratitude, and feeding people with intention — now shape por·Ita.
Conoce a Teresita — nuestra Ita
Meet Teresita – our Ita
She cooks with love, never fanfare.
She grows a thriving garden.
Children adore her. Families adopt her.
She makes a home feel blessed.
Her childhood was shaped by scarcity — but her life, by gratitude, discipline, humility, and a beautiful gift for lovingly feeding anyone who sat at her table.
She keeps a warm and welcoming home and shares every meal siempre con cariño.
por•Ita exists por Ita — for her, by her, because of her.
Esto apenas comienza.
This is only the beginning.
por•Ita is a love letter — to culture, to community, and to the hands that taught us what family tastes like.
